How much is it to join Team Glow? We have two rates of membership £20 and £10. The £10 rate is for those who are members of other clubs, British Cycling, Cycling UK, unwaged etc.
Do I need to join via British Cycling? We use the British Cycling club manager tool to manage our memberships. You do not have to join British Cycling (BC). We recommend members to join BC or Cycling UK for personal liability insurance scheme.
How does the group spend membership money? We use member subscriptions to run the essentials for the club (website hosting, Meet Up fees, Cycling UK, British Cycling and time trial memberships). We also use club funds to support our events e.g. navigation workshops, ride leader training. We have invested in a stock of club kit for members to buy.
I joined the Team Glow Facebook group, does that make me a member? No. Our Facebook group is an open forum and includes women who are not members of Team Glow. To come on rides and participate in the group we ask you to be a full member i.e. purchase membership.
I joined the Team Glow Meet Up group, does that make me a member? No. We allow "guests" on our Meet Up group. We allow guests to have come along and try a couple of rides. We ask you to purchase a membership and become a full member if you want to ride with us. Note that our terms and conditions apply to guests.

Why do I am I asked to give my emergency details when I join Team Glow? In the event of an accident or a problem on ride we would wish to be able contact someone on your behalf.
I've not received my membership card? We do not issue membership cards - we like to keep admin to a minimum so we can have more time on our bikes!
How do I contact the Steering Group? Leave a message on our Facebook page and we will get back in touch with you.
Where do I find out what rides are planned and where to meet? All official Team Glow rides are published on the Team Glow “Meet Up”.
What is Meet Up? Meet Up is the system we use to organise our events and rides. It is the tool we use to organise our events. You can join on trial basis as a "guest". After 3 rides we expect you will become a member. All the information about where the ride is going from, how long it will be and what time to meet is given on for each event. Note that our terms and conditions apply to guests.
Who should I inform that I am coming to a ride? You sign up on the Meet Up group.
Who leads Team Glow rides? Team Glows is run by volunteer members. All our ride leaders are volunteers. We welcome any member to become a ride leader and offer support and training.
Do you offer rides for novices and beginners? We do not cater for absolute beginners and our shortest rides are normally 30 miles. If you are just starting out the Breeze network is a great place to start and they offer beginner rides - https://www.letsride.co.uk/breeze . You can also get free cycle training and courses with Transport for Greater Manchester.
Which ride is right for me? Are all your rides for superfit women? Take a look 0ur Ride page to select the correct ride for your ability. If you are new to Team Glow, look out for our Introductory Ride to which everyone is welcome. On these rides we try keep to quiet lanes and cover about 30 miles including a stop at a café for refreshments. The aim is to provide a relatively short, easy-paced ride suitable for newcomers or riders who are not yet confident of being able to ride with the main club runs, riders returning to cycling or those who are still gaining cycling fitness. These rides are intended as an introduction to cycling with Team Glow, not as an introduction to cycling. An appropriate level of fitness and skill is expected.
Where can I buy one of your super cool Team Glow jerseys? We keep a stock of kit you can buy direct from us. We also open the “ordering window” – details are posted on Facebook.
