No I am not making a Royal Mail Christmas announcement. I started 100/100 Glow project and http://100-100glow.blogspot.com in January 2011 and today, 21st December, I and maybe you start our goodbyes to that blog, but before we go the the delete button I'd like to share a few 'stats and facts' with you on our newly developing website and blog. That picture of Liz Clarke, MD of Bike Right! and I, glowing with our record of achievement was in fact taken in 2006 when we completed the Manchester 100m in 6hr 2mins and said we will have to get other women out here feeling this great. 5 years later we have made it happen big style and changed cycling for women in the NW for ever.
Over this twelve month period the blog has had 4,164 hits, peaking in May with 900 page viewings. Even without any new posts it has attracting over 100 viewings a months since the Manchester 100 on the 4th September. Something is happening out there and i'm still not sure what it is! Blogger being the wonderful intelligent tool it is can help us begin to answer that question. They tell us which countries are viewers are in - needless to say the vast majority are UK but 86 are in the USA, 40 in Russia, 27 in Germany, 15 in Georgia and Romania, 13 in Australia, 9 in Finland and Pakistan and 7 in France. Don't you think that is just fascinating - we've gone global with out even trying? and i thought we were blessed with women flying in from Brussels, traveling up from London and down from Scotland to join us.
In addition to 477 links directly with the 100/100 glow blog, 291 have come through my website www.glynisfrancis.co.uk, 138 through Google, 75 through Facebook, 60 through www.manchesterwheelers.co.uk/ and 42 through www.bikeright.co.uk. Might that help us in the future? Needless to say the key search words are.....100/100 glow!
And guess which page was the most popular?......you've got it....'Who is signing up to ride ?' don't we just like to see our name in print and to reassure ourselves that we will not be the slowest woman on the road, or if we are, we will not be alone :)
